I was intrigued by the description of a certain dictator as “mercurial” in a newspaper article reporting the cancellation of an all-female pop group concert. At the time, I had been in the market for a blog name, with the working title “the single man”. But dictionary definitions of “mercurial” convinced me that “the mercurial man” would quite aptly describe me.
